The first Turkish mission in Croatia was established as Consulate General in Zagreb in 1969 during the period of former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After the disintegration of SFR Yugoslavia and independence of Croatia in 1991, Turkish Consulate General in Zagreb was increased the level of Embassy on 4 September 1992 and the Embassy has officially begun to function on 1 April 1993.

The Embassy includes the offices of the Military and Commercial Attachés.

The jurisdiction area of the Embassy is entire Croatia.
