Press Release Regarding the Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia

H.E. Mongi Hamdi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, will pay a visit to Turkey on 19-21 October 2014.

The Tunisian Minister will be received by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and Prime Minister H.E. Ahmet Davutoğlu, on 20 October. He will meet the same day with H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Economy, and H.E. Serdar Çam, Head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency. On 21 October, Foreign Minister Hamdi will inaugurate the Consulate General of Tunisia in Istanbul.

During the contacts to be held within the scope of the visit, bilateral relations developing in every field between Turkey and Tunisia as well as regional and international issues concerning both countries will be discussed.

Foreign Minister Mongi Hamdi will visit Turkey before the parliamentary and presidential elections in Tunisia which constitute important phases in completion of Tunisia’s democratic transition process. In this regard the visit will be an opportunity to emphasize Turkey’s support to friendly and brotherly people of Tunisia.
