No:114, 17 April 2017, Press Release Regarding the Bomb Attack in the Rachidin Region of Aleppo

We condemn the heinous bomb attack in the Rachidin region in Aleppo, which claimed the lives of dozens of people, most of whom are civilians. We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack and speedy recovery to the wounded.

This attack once again demonstrated the significance of consolidating and expanding the ceasefire regime established in Syria on 30 December 2016.

In order to prevent the recurrence of such humanitarian tragedies, it is deemed absolutely necessary to establish safe zones where the civilians can be provided with security and access to humanitarian assistance in their localities.
