No: 345, 13 November 2017, Press Release Regarding the Earthquake in Iraq
We have been deeply saddened by the 7,2 magnitude earthquake which hit the southwest of Iraq’s Halabja city on November 12.
We wish Allah’s mercy on those who lost their lives and quick recovery to those who were injured in this earthquake, which was felt strongly particularly in the regions where our Iraqi Kurdish brothers and sisters live.
Unconfirmed reports about small number of deaths provide consolation in this tragic incident.
Turkey stands ready to assist the people of Iraq on this painful day via its national agencies Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Turkish Red Crescent.
