No: 190, 1 July 2019, Press Release Regarding the Elections of Bashkan (Governor) in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia of the Republic of Moldova on 30 June 2019
We gladly observed that the elections for Governorship (Bashkan) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia of the Republic of Moldova were conducted on 30 June 2019 smoothly and in a democratic environment. We congratulate Mrs. Irina Vlah who was re-elected as Bashkan (Governor) by receiving the necessary number of votes in the first round, in line with the will of the people of Gagauzia.
We wish that the election results will bring the best to our Gagauz kinsmen and friendly people of Moldova.
Turkey will continue to cooperate with the authorities of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia for the welfare and interests of our kinsmen, on the basis of territorial integrity of Moldova, as it always has been.
